THE STORE@MAC - Fiber artist Laurie Fagen is a juried member of The Store, the artists cooperative at the Mesa Arts Center at One East Main St., Mesa, AZ 85201 on the north side of campus.


SAQA FIERCE PLANETS - Laurie Fagen’s art quilt “Sun with Mercury” is one of 42 pieces juried into the “Fierce Planets” show for Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), an international organization of art quilters. The show premieres at the Louisiana State University Museum of Art April 8 through July 28 and will travel until 2028. Fagen's image is a photo from an original painting by the late artist Bonnie Lou Coleman, digitally transferred to fabric and heavily thread-painted with metallic and rayon threads. 

CEANGAL/CONNECTIONS: An eight-person art exhibit with four artists from Arizona and four from Ireland will premiere as the Chandler Tullamore Sister Cities Art & Culture project in Tullamore in July/August 2024, and will travel to the Chandler Museum Gallery in March/April 2025. With her fiber art, Laurie is one of two visual artists with Siobhan McCormack from Tullamore; two writers Lynne Hartke, Chandler and Geraldine O'Neill, Tullamore; photographers Robert Rice, Chandler and Paul Moore, Tullamore; and filmmakers Devon Hancock, Tempe, and Evin O'Toole, Tullamore. SACRED THREADS: "Eye Contact: creating a connection," has finished its almost 5 years of traveling, and my two pieces are home. There’s a video of all the "eyes" including Laurie's two pieces on the Sacred Threads Facebook page and at Laurie's blue eyes in color are at about :09 from the beginning, and in black & white at 2:54. LAURIE ON KAET-TV: Check out KAET-TV's Horizon show from Feb. 10, 2019  at or for a story about her fiber piece "Life After Death," from the "Huggernaut: Fiber Arts of Love" exhibit at the Scottsdale Civic Center Public Gallery. It's the story in fabric, beads and quilting of her journey following the passing of her husband, Geoff Hancock, eight years ago.
